Breakfastttttttttttttttttt!

Breakfast is the favorite meal of a lot of people, myself included.

One recent Sunday, we had guests over for breakfast.

It wasn't fancy but it was delicious and filling.

There were mushroom and cheese scrambled eggs:

Rice:

Beans topped with onions fried in olive oil:

Crisp bacon, (okay, okay, I know it wasn't healthy but it sure was yummy.)

Fried apples with a touch of cinnamon:

I loved the apples at Cracker Barrel so tried to imitate the recipe. They came out pretty tasty.

For the breakfast, I added pretty red glasses and rose-covered dishes and, of course, a centerpiece with a votive candle.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT FOR BREAKFAST?

  1. Hi Susan, What a delicious looking breakfast and such a pretty tablescape. I love bacon better than anything! I have made apples similar to Cracker Barrel and they are good, too. I've had a sensitive tooth for a couple of weeks now and I am really tired of oatmeal!!!!!

My breakfasts are quite dull. Oatmeal or poached eggs. Yup, dull. :-)

  5. You have my attention today - I loved those fried apples from Cracker Barrel - never thought to make them though.

I heard on the news that people who do not eat breakfast have a 30% more chance of having a heart attack or stroke then those that did!

Everything looked so delicious and pretty!

  8. Delicious looking breakfast; lucky guests. Love the red glasses.

Kind of in a breakfast rut around here, usually oatmeal or a power shake; sometimes scrambled eggs, but of course bacon is the best. Bacon on toast as a sandwich is one of my favorites. Will have to buy some bacon this week!

  10. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! I love to put leftover quinoa, broccoli, mushrooms, spinach, peppers, and green onion in olive oil in the skillet for a few minutes before adding the egg to scramble. Yum! And - it stays with me a long time!

  18. Everything looks so good . I really don't like to eat breakfast until after noon , but given my choice , I'd take left-over Chinese food or spaghetti for breakfast... and of course the whole plate of bacon !
