Have you ever wondered how flowers get their names?
One that's extremely appropriately named is Queen Anne's lace.
It is so delicate yet elegant, too, and is very fit for a queen!
It's lovely alone or tucked into a bouquet.
ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH QUEEN ANNE'S LACE?
I'm not familiar with it, but how gorgeous is that? And so appropriately named.
ReplyDeleteAfter moving here to Cary, NC I started noticing a beautiful flower on the side of the road. I googled it and found out that it's Queen Anne's Lace.
ReplyDeleteQueen Anne's Lace is abundant here, a lovely wildflower along roadsides. It is a favorite and always lets me know summer is here.
ReplyDeleteApparently some areas consider it a noxious weed and try to limit its growth. I just googled the history of its name and there's some interesting folklore behind it. I think it's very pretty and if it grows with wild abandon, then I'm all for it. :) Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteGood question. I didn't give some thought to names of flowers. Queen Anne's lace is the lovely one. Have a nice Thursday.
ReplyDeleteYes I do wonder about the names of flowers! I love Queen Anne's lace. It's hard to think of it as a weed.
ReplyDeleteHope all is well with you Susan.

ReplyDeleteI love Queen Anne's lace - I think when added to a bouquet it finished it out.
ReplyDeleteMany people with allergies are highly allergic to this flower. I've always loved it and think the name is very appropriate.
ReplyDeleteYears ago when I taught a school age summer day camp we painted gorgeous pictures using queen Anne's lace.
