This is the woeful tale of a cooking craft gone wrong.
I was with my granddaughter and we were both excited about making Rice Krispy snowmen.
Pinterest has photos of them and they look so darned cute.
Now granted, it's been a long, long time since I made Rice Krispy treats.
Instead of melting the mini-marshmallows in the melted butter, I just poured the butter, marshmallows and cereal in a big bowl. Bad move.
It was difficult to mold them because not all the marshmallows melted.
Then it was nearly impossible to stick the M&Ms in for eyes and red hots for mouths.
I had to laugh when the two-year-old said, "These look like dogs, Gammie."
To me, they resembled monsters.
No where to be seen were Rice Krispy snowmen.
Hope you got your chuckle for the day!
WHAT PROJECTS DO YOU LIKE TO DO WITH LITTLE ONES?
Ha-ha! I was kinda thinking they look like owls and you were making them for Thanksgiving. :) Perhaps another try next month. Have a good weekend. Tammy
ReplyDeleteSnowmen? I see a beautiful owl :))) Regards.
ReplyDeleteHaha! So funny! I'm with 'agatek'...i immediately saw owls, very wise owls at that! Lol Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and what beautiful memories you have made with your granddaughter! LOVE it.

I seriously thought you made owls for Thanksgiving. You may have invented something. I just know you and your baby girl had fun making and munching them.
ReplyDeleteAww...they don't have to be beautiful to be perfect!
ReplyDeleteBut they were cute and they tasted good. I don't see a problem. LOL Bet y'all had fun.
ReplyDeleteVery cute, Susan. I'll bet they were still very tasty!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun even if a little "off". Try again later after your taste buds want more!
ReplyDeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteLove this silliness and time spent with the grand! No, they don't look like snowmen, but they certainly are loaded with personality and flavor!!
Hugs,
Jemma
My first thought was that you created adorable owls. And how tasty they are! Working with rice crispy treats is never easy. So sticky and so messy. Sweet time with your little one!
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha ha...still they are tasty and I'm sure she had a wonderful time even if she thought they looked like dogs..ha ha ha. Last time I was with my two year old grandson we played with four colors of play dough which he combined to make a colorful snowman...ha ha ha.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laugh. I have to admit they are pretty interesting. xo Laura
