Frazzled but Happy

Some of us might feel like the little fellow pictured above and below-----a bit frazzled but  still happy.

Christmas is like that.

Certainly all the glitter and hoopla are wonderful but so are the peaceful, quiet moments.

Like many, Christmas decorations will remain up around here  for at least another 12 days.

I like the s-t-r-e-t-c-h the holiday out as much as possible because it's such a beautiful, star-studded time.

I wanted to show you some of the gingerbread cookies made this Christmas. Aren't they pretty?

These last little guys, however, were left "naked."  By the time I got to them, I was  sick of decorating and called it quits. ha!

Also, here's a shot of our tree by day.

 And by night.

It's a beauty, gifted by a dear, long-time friend who no longer wanted a big tree in her house.

It slowly revolves around and around, too, which is kind of a unique feature.

I am soooo grateful to my friend for giving us this lovely tree  several years ago and to my daughter for helping put it up and decorate it this year.

SO WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THIS HOLIDAY WEEKEND?

  1. My plan for this coming weekend is to rest and get well. I've been sick since last Sunday with a virus which dampened my Christmas spirit quite a bit...so rest rest rest is required to get well. Happy New Year to you and your family!

  2. Love your cookies! That granddaughter will love joining you in the kitchen to "help" with them!:-) While the only Christmas "trimming" we leave up for 12 days is the Nativity scene, I've no plans to spend my week-end storing the other things away just yet.:-) Enjoy this day!

  7. Beautiful tree! So festive! I actually didn't make any cookies this year because people kept sending/bringing them over. Yours are adorable.

  10. Your tree is so pretty, Susan. What a difference the trees look at day and night. I always take pictures of them at night because you can see the lights sparkle more.

I truly love you simple posts filled with so much beauty and appreciation for life....I just wanted you to know that, Susan.
