Cottage Tea Pot

One never knows what treasures can be found on a sojourn to the attic.

The other day, while retrieving Valentine decor, I unpacked a box that hadn't been opened in quite awhile.

Inside was a darling cottage tea pot.

A dear friend gave this to me a few years  go.

At last it's joining the downstairs world!

The tea pot is almost cute enough to live in!

DO YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO COLLECTS TEA POTS?

  1. I have only two tea pots..one is in the shape of St. Nicholas and the other is a black one wrapped in a darling blue print. I do not use them for my tea though...they are just decorative. Your tea pot is adorable.

  3. Cute teapot. Looks like a little thatched cottage in the countryside in England. I'm reading Susan Branch's book, A Fine Romance; Falling in love with the English Countryside and it seems your teapot could be in her book.

I have a small green and gold teapot that belonged to my paternal grandmother. I use it once in awhil for tea. Mostly I use it for decoration. I like to make a Christmas arrangement in it and have it displayed on my hutch during the holidays. It also looks pretty with any kind of pink flowers in it. Maybe I will make a Valentine's Day arrangement and use some artificial pink roses that I have. That's an idea!

Enjoy your teapoat; it looks so pretty on your hall table.

  4. I know a few collectors - do you collect them too and do you like tea with caffeine or herbal?

  5. Yes, I am overrun with tea pots myself. Even after weeding them out, I have pots and cups everywhere! I have a thatched roof cottage too! Wish I had my great grandmothers back now but that was years ago!

  6. I have a few but never use them always a teabag in the cup.

  7. I would love to collect tea pots, but have to curb that desire due to lack of display space! As it is, I have two Christmas ones that coordinate with the china patterns, my mother's teapot from my childhood, and another white "generic" one. I love to serve tea from them!

  8. I almost started a Tea Pot Collection but I already have a doll collection, a minature shoe collection and my Christmas in the City houses which I now leave out all year round, I now just change the seasons and change the trees and the snow to grass, etc.

As I get older, I can't handle another collection as it is a lot of work dusting them. LOL
