Chinese Delight

Last weekend when celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary, hubs and I drove in thick snowfall to a concert 45 minutes away.

When we finally got there, we were told the concert had been canceled due to bad weather.  What a disappointment.

So we drove to a restaurant we had in mind and it was closed! Strike two.

Finally, an anniversary meal at Panda House in Western Massachusetts saved the day.

Szechuan style Chinese food is one of my favorites and the Szechuan dumplings in a peanut sauce, shown at the top of the post,  did not disappoint.

The  sesame beef was a little on the tough side but still tasty.

The won tons with sweet sauce were good, too.

The tea at Panda House is always hot and delicious.

The fortune cookies that come along with one's bill are always fun.

I love to read that little rectangular paper tucked inside the crunchy dough.

The day we celebrated our anniversary was reminiscent of life, itself-----"If at first you don't succeed, try, try again."

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHINESE DISH?

  1. Happy Anniversary dear Susan! Chinese cuisine is always one of my favorite meals, I seem to never tire of it I remember growing up and going to a quaint Chinese restaurant with my parents and having Chinese noodles, such a happy memory. I know Spring is just around the corner.
    Hugs,

  2. The first sign of bad weather around here closes everything, it seems! Too bad about that concert! We're not huge fans of Chinese food, for some reason.

  9. The best thing about Chinese is the price- it's cheap, and I like brown rice. A little crab rangoon...that's it! I think I'd rather have a nice hamburger with lettuce and tomato...cooked well.😄
