Teapot "Vase"
A table set with a nice, white cloth and a centerpiece of lovely flowers makes dining extra special.
Recently, two dear friends invited me to lunch at the grand old Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
I couldn't help but notice what looked to me like a sweet silver teapot holding flowers in the middle of our table!
It was even inscribed with the inn's name.
Even if one were having only tea and crackers, they would taste extra special if presented with a touch of elegance!
Here's the placemat with a drawing of the inn on it:
Flowers adorned other tables, too, and the flowers were set in different kinds of vases.
Even looking at chandeliers was quite delightful!
It's nice to have an occasional change of pace to someplace different from our own homes!
WHAT IS ONE OF THE MOST UNIQUE THINGS YOU HAVE USED AS A VASE?
Looks like a delightful place to dine. The local florist I visit has an Egyptian worker who thinks I am crazy when I come in with my empty pickle jars to fill with flowers. Folks here think arrangements have to be big and gaudy. I like nice, simple, rustic and often use a pitcher for flowers if I can't find anything else. :) Best wishes, Tmamy
ReplyDeleteTea pots are so pretty when they are used as vases :) I don't think I have used anything to "different" for a vase. I think Mason jars are one of my favorites to use.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day, Susan. Hugs!
Teapot flower vase is simply adorable! I've used mason jars, beer glasses and shot glasses (for the little flowers)
ReplyDeleteMy grandpa's oil can made a lovely container for sunflowers. This is such and lovely place and must have been wonderful treat in middle of winter. I wish I were close enough so I could reach it for a meal in elegance.
ReplyDeleteI like all that has been mentioned for flowers too.
ReplyDeletePretty blog and settings.
I love small vintage treasures used as vases. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteI used an old tennis shoe to plant flower seeds at school, and we called it Smelly flowers.
ReplyDeleteOh I would love to eat in a place like that! I always search out old places with character. I use anything as a vase but have picked up a few in thrift stores for our use here in fl.
ReplyDeleteLove the Red Lion Inn..the gift shop there and the lovely atmosphere. I'm sure you enjoyed your lunch there!
ReplyDeleteMy teapots are often used as vases as I no longer use them as teapots.

ReplyDeleteAntique milk bottles, Sweet Roasted Pepper can given to me by a restaurant in Lexington, MA, and a carved out pumpkin! Love the tea pot and the Inn looks delightful! Stay warm, dear friend, XOXO
ReplyDeleteOh Susan, this reminds me of the silver tea pot Nel got on her anniversary recently, and right away she put flowers in it. I guess that is really in right now. I would have never thought of putting flowers in a tea pot, but it looks gorgeous.
