Marvelous Mermaid Cake

One of  my nieces is fabulously talented when it comes to cake decorating.

When one of her little nieces turned seven recently, she drew a picture of a mermaid in water.

That was the model for her birthday cake!

My niece, Amy, used deep colored frosting tint and her own incredible imagination to create a real mermaid marvel!

There were bubbles, jelly fish and even a crab, all in frosting, too!

Missy Mermaid, who graced the top of the cake, had scales and even a tiny belly button!

Even the inside of the cake had different shades of  "blue  water!"

Very few bakeries could have made such a gorgeous cake in an affordable price range.

The birthday girl was thrilled.

Amy would like to open up her own little bake shop business in the future and I think she should go for it, don't you?

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FLAVOR BIRTHDAY CAKE?

To answer your question......my favorite is chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. There's nothing like it for me. :~)

  4. What 7 year old little girl wouldn't love that cake! How creative. I wonder how long it took your niece to finish it?

My favorite cake is yellow cake with raspberry filling and buttercream frosting. I always request it for my birthday. My mother used to make a mayonnaise cake with mocha frosting that was a close second......
