Rumpelstiltskin by Robbins-Zust Marionettes

Once again,we found a Robbins-Zust marionette show  in Western Massachusetts this past week and saw "Rumpelstiltskin."

A few years ago, we did another post on this family's show and, if interested, you can read it here.

What a total delight it was.

Dion, who is with the Robbins-Zust Family Marionettes, in Western Massachusetts, operated the marionettes.

He's the one seen in several photos today.

He was dramatic, expressive and totally validating to the young audience.

Ol' Rumpelstiltskin was a bit on the scary side.

The kids sat rather still, quite enraptured with the performance.

It was performed inside a church.

Outside, a bubble machine pumped out hundreds of  rainbow-tinged bubbles, to the merriment of kids of all ages.

There were even colored hula hoops available to pass the time before and after the show!

Truly, this was a fun event.

Hope you enjoyed the photos.

DO YOU LOVE TO SEE MARIONETTES?

I used to take my students to a marionette show, and sometimes when they were short handed they asked me to help operate one of them. That was an experience. I see someone darling here is having a great time.

That looked like so much fun and boy did he have their attention. He looked pretty good. You know I think I forgot the story - was it where someone had to remember his name? And the thing I liked most was that little girl in a pink tutu - she is beautiful!

LOVED these photos Susan..just LOVED them. I saw a great marrionette show in Cologne Germany a long time ago ...I would have loved to have seen this one with you all....looked like the kids really had a great time. The one I saw in Germany was Snow White...I'll never forget it.

Enjoyed seeing your photos of the marionette show and the kids. They seemed totally immersed in the show.

When my kids were young we always attended at least one of the Zust family marionette shows during the summer vacation. I know that Jeanne Zust and her husband have since passed away, but it looks like their son has continued putting on the shows. That's so good to know. Maybe the next time my granddaughter visits we could find one of their shows being performed. I think she would enjoy it. I know I would.

Hi Susan,
Oh! I was delighted looking at those marionettes and reading your post.
I have been thinking of you, like what will it be Susan's post for today?
I guess you have read my mind, because I used to operate marionettes
at a marionettes theater at school. Then, I did it at home in my birthday parties.
I was a little child with artistic talents, and one of my talent was
to operate 2 marionettes or 2 puppets with my little hands.
I used to sing and change voices according to the performance of each puppet.
I love this post, Susan. The one who operates the marionettes is very talented.
He amuses the children with his creative abilities. Children seem so enthusiastic.
You make your readers to want more to read from you, sweet dear friend, Susan.
God may always touch your life with showers of blessings on your way.
Hope, Peace & Love,
Poet Starry.
