Going Back to School Soon

This is the last week before school starts in Western Massachusetts.

Teachers are already in their classrooms, getting things ready.

They have important and difficult jobs with our little (and big) kids.

It's been a super summer vacation.

I loved seeing an  out-of-state darling little grandson  and also having an overnight with my sweet granddaughter and her family  in Rockport, Massachusetts, near the ocean.

One other best part of the summer has been sleeping past 6 a.m.

Even getting up at 7 or 7:30 a.m. felt like a treat.

The photos in this post are of flowers received by the main farmer in the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) I joined for the very first time with a cousin.

The flowers are bright and perky, like summer personified.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE BEST PART OF YOUR SUMMER?

The best part was definitely having my three grandsons for four days and nights...then another thing I loved was a week of Jazz in Eugene Oregon...singing in the chorus at that Jazz festival was a highlight for me and seeing all that talent was fabulous. Now I'm going to school myself in my retirement and taking an Emeritis class at the senior center through the college. I LOVE learning. .

Summer is always kind of fun - staying up late and sleeping later is my favorite!

Zack starts his senior year in a week. Not sure if Yusef starts his classes today or tomorrow. We did lots of hiking in Colorado and Utah. But the best part was knowing I didn't have to rush back for the return to work. Woohoo!

Students here have been in school since August 10. Teachers went back on August 3!

Our summer has seemed to be a long, hot one, and we are looking forward to fall here!

Since we are retired, most days are ours for the planning.:-) We haven't set an alarm clock in years!

Been rough summer here...best is having friends drop by...school already started here. Wish all would wait until Labor Day like in old days, like when Christmas stuff started AFTER Thanksgiving!

We have had a lot of out of town visitors this summer and it has been such fun to see everyone and to enjoy being outside in the warm summer air. We ate so many wonderful meals outside under the shade of the oak tree and had a several bonfires complete with s'mores. Our kids were here a lot also and that was wonderful.

Just came back from a delightful swim in the lake, but couldn't help thinking that the "back to school" feeling was in the air.

Sounds like you had a delightful summer too...

Yes, summer is coming to an end, and I can't believe school started this week here. I just did a school post yesterday. Your flowers are pretty, Susan. Enjoy the last few days of summer.

love, ~Sheri
