There's a nip in the early morning and late evening air.
It's a sure sign that autumn is well on its way.
with reality. (Right?)
So I started decorating for fall, just in tidbits.
Out on the porch, I put two small scarecrows. The bigger sized "kids," that I put out every year, are still in the attic.
Also adding to the autumn ambiance are a couple baskets of brightly colored flowers as well as faux leaves on the white chair back.
There's new pumpkin rug in front of the door.
It's very pretty and was purchased new at Big Lots.
The beautiful faux fall leaf wreath that my daughter made a few years ago is up on the door, ready to welcome autumn.
The amber glass, which always makes my heart happy, is on the kitchen window sills but that's post for another day.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT AUTUMN?
Hello from Spain: indeed fall arrives quickly. I like your baskets fall. Bright decorations. I do not like autumn because in my town is too rainy. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteI do welcome fall after the very warm summer we've had. This morning we had 50 degrees here, and it really does feel nice! Wish we had a northeast trip planned this fall.
ReplyDeleteWell we don't have fall here in So. Cal . It's just another calendar day. September and October are usually warm months but this week much needed rain is coming and that will help to cool it down and be more "fall like". Love all your decorations.
ReplyDeleteAutumn has become my favorite season in my older years. I love the oranges and yellows and reds...the glorious goodbye to summer.
ReplyDeleteI, too, have put up a few late summer/early fall decorations. It does feel like fall today as it is windy, cloudy and only 62 degrees. We are in for another week of summer tho, as the forecast is calling for 80 and sunny for most of the week. I'm hoping it will continue thru the weekend as my sisters and brothers and I are meeting down on the Connecticut shore for the weekend. We may get another beach day in yet!
ReplyDeleteI do love the cool fall days and the fact that the sun is still quite warm. Looking forward to the changing leaves and the show they put on here in New England.....
You inspire me to start a little bit of fall decorating around here :-)
ReplyDeleteYour new rug is wonderful. I love everything about autumn - my favorite season of all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan: Love all your fall decor! Hope you are doing well and enjoying being a grandma too! I look at the picture of the kids and can't believe they have grown so much. Have a wonderful week. Sending hugs, Martha
