Old-Fashioned Mirror

Okay, here comes a strange fact.

When visiting a restaurant, I like to check out the condition and decoration of the ladies' room.

If it's neat and in good order, clean and decorated, that's a good sign the restaurant will be good, too.

Does that make any sense to you?

Anyway, while recently at the Bryant House Restaurant next to the Vermont Country Store in Weston, Vermont, I snapped the  photos shown in today's post.

The ladies room of the restaurant has a really beautiful mirror with a very interesting "angel" at the top of the mirror above who is looking down while you wash your hands!

We had been to the Bryant House in the past and you can read about the upstairs Victorian bedroom furniture here.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO ORDER WHEN YOU GO OUT TO LUNCH IN A RESTAURANT?

  1. Hi Susan,
I think exactly like you do! I check the ladies room too. If it's clean and well decorated, I know the service should be good too. I remember a hamburger place we ate in a number of years ago. I didn't enjoy the food and when I went to the ladies room, I was really turned off about the conditions it was in. Needless to say, we never ate there again and I don't recommend it to anyone either. I told my hubby that when we go to a new place from now on, I'm checking out the ladies room first.
Thank you for your visit and you are right, Fall is coming and we might as well embrace it! Enjoy your weekend.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  2. Well I only use public restrooms anywhere if I'm in really dire need. I would much rather use my own .ha. When I'm at a restaurant I love to order something I can't make on my own at home....The place you have pictures of is really pretty. I would love to eat at that restaurant.

  3. This is a very unique and antique looking mirror. I love anything with angels on it. I hope your lunch was good, and the bathrooms look pretty nice.

    Have a pleasant weekend, Susan.

  6. Some places in our town have lavish bathrooms. Others, well, you know what the food will be like. You are right. When my granddaughter was 3 I took her to a fancy opera house and she saw a decorative corner shelf in the stall. She asked, "Oh look! People eat their lunch in here."

  8. .. Beautiful mirror Susan .. I like the little angel too.
When I go out to eat I usually order something with tomato in it. I don't put tomato in my cooking because Mum has to watch her potassium intake.
Have a good day... Barb xxx

  9. It certainly makes a difference when you find a clean restroom. Means that they care about every aspect of the restaurant and service to their customers.
