Home Decorating Fun in Fall

One of my favorite things to do, in all the world, is go into homes and see how they are decorated.

Interior decorating is so much fun!

At a birthday bash in the home of a dear niece, Sarah,  I loved seeing all the pretty fall decor that is shown in this post.

For instance, the bright green fellow, shown at the top, held candy corn!

No one decorates in the same way.

Everyone's style is different and that's what makes it all so awesome.

Variety is the delicious spice of life.

Sarah has class and pizazz in interior decorating and her home always reflects it.

She graciously said I could do a post on her decorations to share with you.

DO YOU ENJOY INTERIOR DECORATING?

  1. I enjoy seeing how other people decorate for holidays, too! Personally, I find myself doing less and less and enjoying what others do more and more!)

  6. Yes, I do enjoy decorating my home for the seasons and the various holidays. It's kind of like a hobby for me. I think decorations add to the ambiance of a home and add to the pleasure of being at home. I know you agree.

It's fun to see how other people decorate and I always enjoy seeing how you decorate your lovely home through your blog.

  7. Hi Susan! I love your fall decor and your mantle. I wanted to respond to your comment about interior decorating vs. design. I have a bachelor's degree in interior design. My program was pretty intense and involved a lot of long hours and late nights, so my pet-peeve back then was when people assumed I just "fluffed pillows and picked out paint colors." I learned how to make construction documents (blueprints) and space plan the walls and fixtures of an interior. So, my interior design degree was more like what people think of as interior architecture. Interior designers can design the interior architecture of a structure as well as the fun surface stuff like select finishes, paint, etc. (although this is a small part of the job.) After college, I worked for a couple different architecture firms for a few years before I realized I was miserable sitting at a desk drafting all day! (I would rather be the one actually building the interiors than sit at a desk!) Luckily, I was able to use my degree and go back to school and get my teaching credential. I still love interior design and decorating though. And I love that gold pumpkin of yours. I hope I answered your question (and I hope you enjoyed a brief background on me ;-)

    Have a Happy Halloween!

    Love,

    Jess
