While helping one of my sisters de-clutter a room in her basement, we streamlined the task by having big black plastic bags for:
1) charity
2) keepers
3) trash
We made pretty good progress over an approximate four hour period.
She wanted to give up a set of Royal Doulton off white plates with gold rims.
To me, they are beautiful.
There are 12 dinner plates, dessert plates, cups and saucers.
So, along with a half ton of other still usable items, the dishes came home with me.
Seriously, can one ever have enough dish sets? (Please don't say "yes." hee hee)
I love the simple yet elegant lines of these dishes.
Next dilemma will be where to store them but I'll think of something.
Also, uhhhh, who can help "me" declutter?
DO YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE SET OF DISHES?

Very pretty dishes and I know you will enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteHello Susan, the dishes are beautiful. White dishes are my favorite, because you can set so many pretty tables settings with them and they always look fresh and elegant. I do know what you mean about storage . . . I think we all reach a point where when we bring something new into the home, something has to leave to make room for it. Good luck on finding what to get rid of :)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day sister.
Connie :)
I love the simplicity of these dishes. Makes me want to have a dinner party. I know you will put them to good use.
ReplyDeleteI know Linda and she loves her dishes. lol And I think those dishes are beautiful and I for one am glad that you got that set. And no you can never have enough - but space is a problem. Sweet of you to help your sister.
ReplyDeleteOh, dear! Please don't ask about how many sets of dishes I have! More than one, 'tis true! Not much into gold around here, but who could pass up Royal Doulton with these classic lines? Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHi!! I love dishes also but like you I wonder where to store them so I don't have that many but would love too! Those are very elegant looking and would look so nice with Christmas colors or Valentines Day. Lucky you! Visiting you from Connie's blog. Nancy
ReplyDeleteI do have more than one set of dishes. Love them all and use them all.
ReplyDeleteThe white dishes look beautiful. Lots of possibilities for them...
Hi Susan -
ReplyDeleteMy late friend loved dishes. She had a service for 16 of Lenox Christmas dishes, a set for Thanksgiving, and her love for the sea found representation in lighthouse dinnerware. There were others. Some women sneak clothes into their houses to avoid their husband's wrath. She'd sneak in dishes!
Enjoy your sister's de-clutter bonanza. Maybe she can help you and find a few for herself.
God bless,
Susan
