The Brother and Sisterhood of Scarecrows

Every since seeing the Wizard of Oz, as a kid, scarecrows have appealed to the child within.

They are so, well, simple and sweet.

Usually made from straw, they have charming, engaging smiles.

No one likes to see a sad scarecrow.

Just like the straw man in the Wizard of Oz, all scarecrows would be petrified of fire, if they could talk.

Scarecrows of all sizes make great fall decor.

HAVE YOU EVER MADE A SCARECROW?

  1. We used to make a great scarecrow named Jazboe in special clothing year after year. Loved him as did the kids. Then one year he was stolen, the whole thing carried away out of the yard never to be found. Have not done once since. Love scarecrows though. Have a good weekend.

  5. Scarecrows have friendly faces unlike clowns who are a bit of a worry.

  8. We made a scarecrow when we lived in Denver and Ed has been with us ever since, about 27 years. He's part of the family now. :) Kit
