Church Yard Sale Provides "Heavenly Treasures"
In an effort to stop collecting things, it's been quite awhile since I have gone to a yard sale.
Last weekend, however, was a delightful exception.
With hubs at my side, we stopped at one held at a Lutheran church.
Oh boy, so glad we did.
Everything, that had dirt cheap prices to begin with, was half price.
Spotted this the lovely set of four Christmas plates and matching cups shown in this post.
It's called "Tienshan" fine china and the pattern, as shown above, is Golden Pines.
Isn't that an enchanting name? Golden Pines. Beautiful!
The tag on the set stated $2.00, so with the half price offer, the entire set cost a dollar!
Yep. That's right. A single buck.
Other little doodads found at the yard sale will be shown in other posts so if such things interest you, stay tuned.
DO YOU ENJOY GOING TO CHURCH YARD SALES?
I bet some grown up child put their parents dishes in there - those are beautiful and I bet they are worth something - if not - they are worth a lot to you - they are gorgeous and I am glad you found them.
ReplyDeleteI just love it when I hit the goldmine. I came upon a church sale in NH and came home with a hand stitched pillow which matches my bedspread. You sure got a deal.
ReplyDeleteYes, they are my FAVORITES.
ReplyDeleteThis was a steal! So pretty and will go with so many decorating plans!
ReplyDelete... wow.. These are beautiful Susan.... you were at the right place at the right time... bargain.
ReplyDeleteI don't go the yard sales at all. We call them Garage sales in Australia ... and I used to love going to as many as I could.... I loved the thrill of finding that 'special' thing I didn't know I 'needed' .. at a cheap price.
My 'collecting' became a real problem for me ..I became a compulsive hoarder. It took a lot of pain to overcome this and part with my 'treasures'.... BUT... life is easier and better without the clutter and the'compulsive' searching.
I love the way you decorate so beautifully with your special pieces..
Sorry for the long comment..
Have a great day...
Hugs.. Barb xxx
That is a heavenly set of Christmas china, with the gold trees being so shiny, and what a good deal price wise.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a deal! I would love to have Christmas dishes, and these are simply gorgeous! For a dollar!!!
ReplyDeleteBargain city for sure Susan. You must be so exited. I love the pattern and I'm sure you will have fun with the china. You always set such pretty tables.
ReplyDeleteHello from Spain: In my country there is no sale in the church. There are grants and gifts for people who have little. I like your new purchases. Perfect for Christmas. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteChurches definitely have some of the best yard sales. Love your new dishes. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Such a good deal. What lovely dishes and not too many, so it will be easier to find a spot to store them. I can just see them set for a Christmas lunch or brunch. I know you will enjoy them....
ReplyDeleteChurch sales are the best! Love the dishes and so pretty for the coming holidays!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
You found another great item at the church yard sale. This white set is lovely and just right for Christmas with the gold trees and gold rimmed plates. Every time I see a yard sale, I drive by slowly to see if there are any goodies I'd like. :)
