Christmas Dollhouse, Post #1

One of the most joyful tasks of the Christmas season around here is decorating the dollhouse!

Regular readers have seen posts on this delightful task for several years in a row.

There's a small manger scene in the backyard again.

Each year I try to add to the dollhouse or do things a little differently.

Because I want to share it with you in short spurts, some of the individual  rooms will featured in a few posts.

The kitchen is decorated rather simply this year.

Too much clutter is not good, even in a dollhouse!

There's a new chandy that lights up the room. (See photo at top of post with chandy lighted.)

A glass jar filled with candy canes and tiny candles are on the windowsill!

There's a mini garland on top of the fridgie and some cookies on the stove top. The gingerbread house is in the right hand corner and the little cottage is on a stand to the left.

Dollhouse miniatures are one of my all-time favorite hobbies.

The dollhouse china hutch, filled with tiny holiday figures, is in the kitchen until after Christmas.

It's creative, fun and a total joy to behold!

Someone asked me recently if the dollhouse was destined for a child.  "No," I replied, "It's for me!"  (And for the enjoyment of guests, of course.)

DO YOU HAVE HOBBIES IN YOUR ADULT LIFE THAT YOU LOVED AS A CHILD?

  5. Oh your doll house is stunning. Love the new lighting fixture that is shining in the first picture...love all the Christmas decor. You sure do have fun and I bet your granddaughter LOVES coming and helping you with the doll house. I don't really have any hobbies...I just like to read in my kindle.

  6. What wonderful details you have in your dollhouse. Love the red cushions on the kitchen chairs. It's fun to see how you decorate for the holidays. I wonder where you find all the tiny touches.

I enjoy decorating my own house throughout the year and especially at Christmastime. I think one's home is an extension of one's personality and it's a joy to express yourself through home decorating.

Look forward to seeing more of the dollhouse.

  8. When I see how cute your doll house is, I think I need one! lol I know I would get in all kinds of trouble wanting cute things for it but what fun they are. Love your holiday touches throughout. It makes me want to shrink down and get inside for some of that cake. And yes....I have dolls and play all the time! Holiday hugs, Diane

  9. Hi Susan, sweet friend,
I love your dollhouse!! Merry Christmas in advance!!
    Your Christmas decorations are stunning.
Yes!! I had a hobbie as a child that I still keep
in my adulthood. For Christmas, my father gave me a Kodak Camera and
an 8 mm. Film Recording Device when I turned 10.
I began to take many photos of nature and animals.
I also recorded many 8 mm. short films, which they turned
into an hour movie in VHS years ago. I still love photography and movies.
I would like to turn the films into a DVD one day, if I find the right person to do it.
The short films are basically recorded when I was a child and a young teen.
My father and my mother were there, along with my uncle, aunts, friends, etc.
Thank you, Susan for bringing so much joy and smiles to your readers!!
Merry Christmas, Susan, family, beloved ones!!
    Greetings from Starry.
