Turquoise and Silver Wonderland

One of my sisters, Barb, has a fireplace mantel decorated for Christmas that is so beautiful, it can take one's breath away!

An artist, she has a magical touch with just about anything she pursues.

The shimmering mantle has silver trees, transparent angels,  touches of green, and white lights.

Her Christmas tree is nearby and it's done in silver, turquoise and white.

Again, there are snippets of green.

I love the way it reflects in the window.

My niece, Amy, decorated the tree this year for her Mama.

She did a superlative job.

It's all just splendorous.

It's a nice change from the traditional green and red colors of the season.

ARE YOU A TRADITIONAL DECORATOR OR DO YOU LIKE TO TRY NEW THINGS?

  1. The tree and mantle are completely beautiful and I like the colors. Your sister is an artist as this shows, and nice of Amy to decorate the tree for her mom.

  2. I am pretty traditional but I do love this tourquoise. I can see leaving that mantle up all during January for the icy glow of winter it presents.

  4. I love how everything twinkles! I decorate with old vintage things for the most part. But I love it all! Holiday hugs, Diane

  5. I've had the same decorations for over forty years and nothing has changed except that I have a fake tree now instead of a real one. My adult children love to see the ornaments they made as children when they visit me. I love Barb's tree and your tree too. They are always so beautiful.

  8. Gorgeous! When I had a Christmas tree, it was done in purple and gold representing the royalty and deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. I chose ornaments that reflected the theme, as well as some just for their beauty.

I don't have the room for a tree in my current living space, but I get to decorate the office tree. While it's not quite the same thing, I do get to admire it five days a week. :)
