Hearts and Flowers

Hearts and flowers are a great combination.

No wonder Valentine's Day is such a popular holiday.

Come to think of it, it's one of my favorites.

Here's a little pet peeve, though.

Right now, if you go to the supermarket or flower  shop, you can pick up a bunch of lovely flowers for a bouquet that will put barely a dent in your budget.

A couple weeks from now, though, near Valentine's Day, prices will be doubled and even tripled.

So, if you want to buy anyone flowers, do it now. Give them an "early" Valentine's Day gift.

Around here, there are hearts all over the place because, well, they touch my heart!

Will show you more on another post.

HOW CAN A BROKEN HEART BE MENDED?

  1. Now there's a good idea - shopping early for flowers! I was just admiring them yesterday while at the grocery store. :) Hope you are staying warm this week!

  2. I am amazed at how much flowers will cost near Valentine's day...crazy. I'm going to the store today and plan on picking up a bouquet for myself. I need a pick me up. Broken hearts just take time to mend and sometimes they never do.

  3. My daughter's birthday is the 15th - the day before the flowers are outrageous - and the day after either the stores are closed or the poor flowers are all picked over. How do you mend a broken heart - I guess is time.

  4. Time heals a broken heart. I am also looking at the See's candy and that is very high priced too. I guess we just have to be sure the person we are buying hearts and flowers for is WORTH IT...

  5. Time does it but it helps if someone nicer comes along.

  6. I saw your red roses on my side bar and had to come right over. It doesn't seem fair that the prices go up around Valentine's Day when buying flowers, does it? Love that rope heart. I have a thing for hearts as well.

I got your note card in the mail today. I loved what you said about getting older. You are a dear blog friend to me, and I appreciate your blog very much. Thank you for the surprise mail, I LOVED IT!

  8. I think it depends on the circumstances... In my own life prayer is the answer to everything. So greatful For that gift in my life. For me prayer changes everything!!

  9. I admire flowers but worry that Kitty No-No will get them, so I rarely have cut flowers.
