The Rainbow Cross
Sometimes in life, one comes across an item that brings surprises as well as unprecedented joy.
One of these is a lovely glass cross found, at first, at Marshall's.
Because I love crystal and glass "anything," it came home with me.
It found a place on the kitchen windowsill.
When the sun hits it, the entire room becomes filled with rainbows!
Can you imagine walking around in a room filled with rainbows?
They are little ones and can be found on the ceiling, walls, doors, appliances and floor!
Since that wonderful discovery, I've purchased "rainbow crosses" several times to give as gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, baptisms and just about any other occasion calling for a special gift.
Found some of the glass crosses in Home Goods and T.J. Maxx, too!
WHAT IS ONE SERENDIPITOUS ITEM IN YOUR OWN PLACE? TELL US ABOUT IT!
You ever see Pollyanna - she loved her crystals too! I think it must be beautiful in your home.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful your rainbows are!!! I bought a collectors item---A First People in buckskin on a paint horse out of a clearance bin once...pricey item even at half price..but it on my bookshelves thinking I would give it to a grandson someday...still can't part with my "fellow" yet.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and magical, Susan.
ReplyDeleteI have some little rusted flower pots that jumped out at me while I was in an eclectic shop-they bring me joy whenever I look at them.
Hope you are doing well and having a good week.
Jemma
Not sure I can name one thing got a few no crystals but they are lovely.
ReplyDeleteMerle......................,
I have a crystal cross of my Mothers on the dining room table that does the same thing when the sunlight hits it. I also have a suncatcher harp from Ireland which hangs in the kitchen window that is glorious. It is made of three colors of glass and is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYes, I can see why you love those rainbows put out by the cross. I have a little crystal pillar with a frog etched inside it, so I put it in my bathroom window and it too casts rainbows around the white walls and white tile floor. This is nothing I would normally purchase, I never buy frog items, but I picked it up at a yard sale intending to resell on ebay because I knew it was good crystal. I never did put it on auction because it makes me happy to have it. I've had it probably ten or twelve years now.
ReplyDeleteOh! You shop at some of my favorite places! Lovely to have rainbows in your house!
ReplyDeleteThis takes me back to the day my late best friend discovered rainbows splayed all around her dining room as the sun reflected off her crystal chandelier. It was truly a gift for her.
ReplyDeleteHello from Spain: the stained glass create a fabulous atmosphere. Beautiful photos. Keep in touch
