Weather reports around here are predicting snow in Massachusetts for Thursday of this week.
Is this an early end to autumn?
A sneak preview of soon-to-come winter?
A fluke of nature?
Pessimistic weather people?
An icy pre-Halloween happening?
Is it goodbye to farmers' markets, gorgeous fall yard displays, happy "scarecrows" and crunchy leaves beneath one's feet?
Before it's too late, I want to share a few last photos of spectacular autumn in New England.
What will I do when stopping my car to aim my camera and shoot gorgeous fall foliage photos comes to an end?
It has been a splendorous autumn and I just hate to say, "Good bye, sweet and lovely autumn. You put an ache in my heart."
DO YOU LOOK FORWARD TO WINTER'S ICY GRIP?
I have a friend in Wisconsin and they have had a little snow already. I know you all will get a lot eventually. Heck no - we just got rid of hot summer here - I need a fall!
ReplyDeleteWell we had a taste of "winter" here with pelting rain and thunder and lightening but we never get snow in So. Cal. Enjoyed looking at those wonderful pictures of fall in New England Too bad it was so short lived.
ReplyDeleteSusan, your Autumn is so beautiful where you live, I do hope it lasts awhile longer. Although, I am going to love seeing pics of the snow around your neck of the woods, as I don't get to see it much here in the winter. :)
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
Oh my goodness. We are just now starting to really get fall weather. Your photos are beautiful and I know you hate for it to end. Maybe the weather people have it wrong. That seems to happen quite a bit around here. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteLoved those shots! Just lovely pictures. I can remember Halloweens in the old days with 4' drifts. Our winters here have changed. We don't get anywhere near as much snow as when we were kids. New England weather? Changes fast! Last week it was 84! Right now 34* Remember last Christmas?60*I wore a sweater to Midnight mass.
ReplyDeleteOh, Susan, what beauty! I do hope it stays around for you longer. I've always wanted to see a New England autumn. Down here, we are the last to get the fall colors but if we're patient we do see some beautiful color.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are lovely. I love fall too. Hope you can dodge the snow for a bit longer! :)
ReplyDeleteYour fall foliage is gorgeous. It is still too warm here. Will be 70 all week and we had a 91 degree day in October. I love the autumn colors and am not looking forward to snow. I hope it is not a sign of an early winter, since yours last so long.
ReplyDeleteOh Susan, your photos are glorious! What vibrant colors :)
ReplyDeleteWe have been getting snow in the high country for a while now, but about 2 weeks ago we got snow down low. Our leaves are done and most have fallen to the ground.
Have a lovely day! Hugs!
No,I dread winter. I so hope this snow passes you by...plenty of time for snow. You need color and autumn a bit longer aw we all do. Thanks bundles for the sweet Halloween card!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...snow? I can't even imagine. Your photos are lovely. I always enjoy your blog.
