Four Freedoms

Four freedoms are very, very precious.

Franklin D. Roosevelt, in 1941, spoke about them in a speech to the nation and they still hold true today.

In a nutshell, they are:

1) Freedom from fear
2) Freedom from want
3) Freedom of religion
4 Freedom of expression and speech

Today, any American who cherishes those freedoms must realize that whenever even one of them is threatened, they are all threatened.

Freedom comes with a very big price.

As those in the U.S. Military have often expressed, "Freedom is not free" and that is true for all of us, wherever we live.

Every person has to do his or her part to fight to maintain precious freedom.

  1. Nice reminder...we must all be vigilant and let no downward slide begin. This whole country was built on struggle. We must continue that struggle to be free.

  5. So happy to live in the good old USA where freedom is sometimes taken for granted. Listening to the patriotic music this past weekend was such a tear jerker for me. Love it and love living in the United States of America.

  6. Each one of us has a responsibility to participate in the process to protect our freedom. Sometimes I wonder, though, if people understand what that word, "freedom" means. It's not the right to do anything and everything we want, but rather to act in a manner that epitomizes the Golden Rule - do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

  9. There are those of us who are encouraged by the change of office in this country in hopes of much-needed changes, and who haven't been happy with the direction this country has been heading over the last 8 years.
