Remain in the Moment...
(Shown is a small stained glass piece in which it is always spring. It hangs in a kitchen window.)
Sometimes I have to remind myself to remain in the moment.
So much of life is thinking ahead to what "might" or "could" be.
It's the worst possible way to think.
Our minds can sometimes be our own worst enemies.
No one knows what tomorrow will bring.
No one even knows if there will be a tomorrow.
There are times in life when remaining in the moment is the best possible thing we can do.
With several difficult things happening at once, I guess this is a time in my own life, to re-visit the premise to remain in the moment while repeating "This, too, shall pass."
WHAT HELPS YOU TO LIVE ONE MOMENT AT A TIME?

What a great post! What I do to live in the moment? Each morning, I have quiet time, time to read God's word and fill my thoughts with positivity, to pray the negative away. The struggle for me is when thehubs awakes, on goes the tv"s (yes 2), radio, and then the phone starts ringing. To be able to remain in the moment of grace and greatfullness while the world is spinning around me.That is my struggle. Throughout my day, I look for the quiet, even if it is just a couple of minutes by myself in the laundry room.
ReplyDeleteI read recently"This too shall pass, maybe like a kidney stone, but it WILL pass."
ReplyDeleteLife does have its ups and downs.
I live in the moment by being aware of my surroundings and being grateful for the people and beauty in my life.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stained glass piece. The moment is all we really have. :)

I fall into that category of thinking what could have been! Lovely stain glass and I hope it does bring you happy memories too!
ReplyDeleteWhen I really start to stress out and I do - I find when I wake you at night to go to the washroom - when I come back I start to worry - my mind just goes round and round and round - so bad my stomach will start to hurt. I pray and I deep breathe. God helps.
ReplyDeleteBeing grateful for what I have especially my health keeps me living in the moment. I'm in a part of my life where each day is a blessing to be alive.
ReplyDeleteYes, we often times just think about the future with "what might or could be," as you said. This is such a sweet reminder to stay in the moment and appreciate all and everything today. Thank you, dear Susan.
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
ps thinking of you today as you're dealing with your own things all happening at
once. They always seem to come at once, don't they?
Pretty stained glass! I wish I knew a secret to living in the moment and not worrying about what is ahead. My mother has cancer and I think I began grieving the minute I was told and haven't stopped yet!
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day!
Ah yes, so hard to stay in the moment esp. if it is a rough moment at the time. I find myself going backwards too much, thinking of what has been and not what will be.
ReplyDeleteit is so true that sometimes our minds can be our own worst enemies. Living in the moment is great advice.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a choice, time marches on.

... living in the moment ....
ReplyDeleteI think it would be wonderful to be able to do that on a constant basis.
I'm afraid I get side tracked by the dramas of daily life... the little hurts and wounds that happen...

Hello!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stained glass window in the kitchen window. I gladly would have watched him every day. Stop time? Enjoy the moment ... I'm trying to do it every day. Once I succeed and sometimes not. But I try.
Greetings and welcome to me.
Hi, Susan!I am the same way. Currently there are several things on my mind. I try to do something that will need my complete concentration! Sending you hugs! xo Nellie
