Toddler Toys

Oh boy, today's babies and toddlers have an astounding array of toys in every color, size and description.

When visiting  both my in-state grandchildren, as well as my out-of-state darlings, it's hard to tell who has more fun -----the kids or their Grammie!

All of us have our favorites.

I love the brightly colored  circus animals that make sounds!

They really sound like the real deal, too.

There are colorful elephants, giraffes, a hippopotamus, monkeys,  tigers, and on and on.

What fun it is making the circus train with all the noisy, handsome looking animals.

The little yellow mouse on the big elephant's back, shown above, makes a squeaking sound when pushed down.

Last fall, I discovered a local online, primarily used, toy site.

The prices of items are low and some of the toys purchased look like no one even played with them.

Below is a little red "boidie" in the "tweetop."

I've purchased some wonderful toys.

Plus, the kids' other sweet and loving Grammies have bought lots of lovely toys, too! All the kids are so lucky!

When I'm with any of the kids, we combine toy sets and have a whole menagerie.

Then, we just play.

For a Grammie, it's like becoming a kid again.

Oh yeah, the toddlers have fun, too!

WHAT WAS YOUR ALL TIME FAVORITE TOY WHEN YOU WERE A KID?

  1. No toddlers in our family for a quite a while, no grandchildren yet, but cute post. :)
My favorite toy was my Suzy doll (a Horsman) and this would have been in the 1960s. I still have her (sort of) thanks to my husband who bought me a duplicate vintage one some years back. Our young-adult children (in their 20s) seem to think she's "scary" but I love her still.

  2. I love to play with my Grands. Their toys are so much fun and very musical! I think my favorite toy as a child was a doll.

  3. You know what - I think Andy had that toy - and he loved it and so did I. My favorite toy (?) was my Posey doll - she looked like SHirley Temple. My mom made us matching clothes. I still have her. Sandie♥

  4. Monopoly a game I played when my Uncle Donnie came to visit. Loved playing that board game.
Now I play Jr. Monopoly with my grandsons. We have a great time together.
