Bert and Ernie, Sesame Street stars, have always brought joy and smiles to our house.
When our kids were little, they were a regular part of their lives.
Now I have grandkids, (how did that happen?), and ol' Bert and Ernie are still around for them.
They are old faithfuls.
I bought a talking, snoring Ernie who convincingly says, "I'm sleepy."
Wearing adorable bunny slippers, he nods off to dreamland while singing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star."
Guess what?
When he sleeps, his little chest rises up and down while he also snores.
It's hilarious to see.
ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH BERT AND ERNIE?
Yes, I grew up with Bert & Ernie and so did my daughter (now 21). Funny, I hadn't thought of them until today when reading this, as we have no little ones in our world. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove Bert and Ernie and all the Sesame Street gang. My children both grew up with them. The Grands not so much although Grover is one of Tiger's favorite characters.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - my grown kids were raised on them - I watched it with them - I just loved them - could never get Andy to watch them too much tho... sandie
ReplyDeleteWell I have ELMO in my house sitting on a rocking chair for kids. My grandsons are older now and don't play with him as much as they did when they were little but he is still here and laughs when you press his tummy. My own children loved Sesame St. as kids...such a great show.
ReplyDeleteBert and Ernie, The Count, Oscar and Elmo will always be classics. The perfect characters to teach and love the little ones.
ReplyDeleteI've been catching up with Bert and Emie and the rest of the gang lately grandchildren do that to you.
ReplyDeleteMerle.........
Our little guy likes Elmo. I remember watching Sesame Street many moons ago when I was an expectant mom in Alaska army town. The only show on TV other than news.

Sure loved them. On Sesame Street.
ReplyDeleteMy dear friend who passed away with cancer. Taught kindergarten for 30 years.
Then three years after she died of cancer. I miss her dearly.
So I babysat her last child so she could take on extra courses to be with special need children after school hours.
Her daughter loved these Bert and Ernie Characters. That was a every day speciality for her and I to watch.
I would start singing the tune and wherever she was playing from family room with her dollies. She knew it was time for us to cuddle up for the program. She came a running. I knew where she was.
And also with her little voice say. With her outside voice. COOKIE MONSTER.YUM>YUM
My Granddaughter who now is a teacher. She loved Elmo.
ReplyDeleteShe went to see Elmo and the gang on skates in Toronto.
And has the Elmo character.
We laugh about that so much.
She was two when she went to the skate show.
So at the dinner table we said. Who did you see Elmo and wit the big laugh following.
She got us laughing. Honest to goodness being two she had that little voice like Elmo it made us laugh all the more. Now she is 23.
