Day trips are great fun.
We did a story on a trip there once before. If interested, you can read it here.
In the spring and summer, blossoming flowers fill urns and planters all over the pretty grounds.
It looks different in winter but is still a nice place to visit.
One drawback is that just about everything there tends to be pricey.
Some crystal candle holders that looked like transparent frozen flower blossoms, were quite exquisite.
In the Country Barn, all kinds of tempting items could be found.
Inis hand and body creme from Ireland. a combination of shea butter and seaweed extracts, smelled fabulous!
The jewelry sparkled and dangled and summer clothing items flashed in bright, happy colors.
Fun, fun, fun!
WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF A PERFECT DAY TRIP?
Good morning Susan, what a fun place to visit. I would love to go there. Maybe next time I am back east. Did you get hit with snow yesterday? What a winter. We are getting buckets of rain...ugh. WE all need some sunshine.

I'm glad you had a chance to get out. I am ready for a trip out somewhere I think, but now hubby is pretty sick. We are really a mess at this address! We saw snow flakes all day yesterday but none stuck. Today is starting gray... I bet you are tucked inside today!
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed visiting those quaint shops in New England. they seem to be everywhere. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteCandle shops are always fun to visit. Those crystal flowers holders were so pretty. How did you resist not taking them home. Or did you?

ReplyDeleteA perfect day trip for me probably includes lunch, bookshops, quaint old treasure shops, and someone nice to share it with. It looks like you had a wonderful time, Susan.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a beautiful day...

A visit to the candle shop sounds like a perfect day to me. I love candles! Such pretty crystal flower blossoms. I think I'd have to get one of those. ; ) It sounds like a wonderful day, Susan. It's fun leaving our homes for awhile and going on a day trip.

I like to go to Dana Point...lots of ocean there to sit and watch the waves, nice places to shop and restaurants galore. It's near me so I go there often. So glad you got away to a place you enjoyed going to.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - the crystal - flower with the place for the candle inside - my kids got that for me from the Swan House here in Georgia. I love it and it is a beautiful piece. Same one - glad you had a good time. sandie
ReplyDeleteThose crystal candle holders are so pretty! Looks like a lovely shop. Happy to hear you had a good day out and about.
ReplyDelete.. wonderful day trip Susan .....
ReplyDeleteI like to go to the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney ... it's a magnificent old building with domed roof and stained glass windows. It has high fashion shops and quirky specialists shops, restaurants and tea houses and jewellery and art galleries ..
All the shops run around the inside walls of the building over 4 floors.... leaving a fantastic Atrium in the centre with a hanging clock that has moving figures that come out on the hour .... it's amazing ....
I love going there .. Just For Fun ....Barb xxxx
