Our front porch lantern gives a warm welcome even in the midst of chilly weather.
It was a gift from a dear friend, Patti.
She and her late cousin bought it at a yard sale several years back.
As soon as dusk comes, I switch the lantern on.
It look so warm and welcoming, especially when the temperatures are freezing.
The front porch chair, however, would not be a hot spot these days, if someone were to sit on it!
DO YOU LIKE LANTERNS ON FRONT PORCHES?
I like it! It is warm and inviting.
ReplyDeleteThe thumbnail kinda threw me for a loop, though. I could not figure out what it was!
Hey didn't your sweet friend pass away? I love that porch light. We used to have a gas light in Chicago. Here in Georgia we do not have things like that in our neighborhood. Love, sandie
ReplyDeleteThe snow on the light almost beckons visitors to come inside.
ReplyDeleteYour lamp looks so cozy in the middle of all that snow. Yes, I do like inviting lights near a front door or window.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a beautiful weekend...

The lantern is warm and welcoming. Very charming piece to ward off the darkness.
ReplyDeleteOh it looks so cold there! Here the day has been gray and wet, more heavy rains to come in the night. Can't complain as the earth needs the refreshment here! Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming porch lantern, Susan. I've never seen one that just switched on like that. I've only seen ones where the candle goes inside. This is very unique, and it lights the way for visitors. Lovely, Susan.
ReplyDeleteHave a pleasant weekend.

Hello!
ReplyDeleteI can no longer look at the snow. Lovely light, best regards :)
Lanterns cast a lovely glow. Yesterday when I checked weather in Albany, it was snowing. And then later in the day, it was raining and seems that is going to stick around for many days to come. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteI do not have a porch but I do have a lantern on my walkway to my house which welcomes people to my house too . I am so glad I do not have winter where I live. I'm blessed.
