Bells That Cannot Ring

The word for "bell" in Spanish is "campana.

The other day in the supermarket,  a gorgeous plant called "campanula" garnered rapt attention.

Its purple blooms looked like dozens of silent bells!

How I loved that plant but didn't want to part with $9.99 to pay for it.

Right before Mother's Day, however, I returned to the super and bought one campanula.

Then, throwing all precaution right out the window, I drove to Big Lots and bought a fabulous heavy ceramic container for the plant.

Happy Mother's Day to me!

The gesture of generosity toward self felt great.

HOW ARE YOU WHEN IT COMES TO TREATING YOURSELF?

  1. I'm so glad you treated yourself to this lovely plant and pretty pot. What pretty bell blossoms.

I can just imagine how much joy you will receive day by day by day ... Susan Branch often quotes a saying from Iris Murdoch: "One of the secrets of a happy life is continuous small treats." I agree.

    Wishing you a beautiful day,
    Brenda

  2. Your purple flowers and the ceramic pot is a perfect present just for you, Susan. Don't ya just love Big Lots? My sister first introduced it to me many years ago, and since then, I was hooked. Your flowers go well with that pretty blue pot.
