Statues depicting images of the Blessed Mother always tug at the heartstrings of some Christians.
The mother of Jesus suffered so greatly in life.
She willingly became a teenage mother while remaining a pure virgin.
She raised her little son until he became a man.
Then, she had to see him suffer a horrendous passion and then death.
She must have been so terribly sad.
The statue of Mary shown in today's post decorates a side altar at a Catholic church in western Massachusetts.
There were white flowers at Mary's feet, a fitting gift for this truly beautiful mother with a tender and loving heart.

I always love seeing statues of Mary and her precious Son. This one is beautiful, Susan. How pretty the white flowers must have been sitting at Mary's feet. She does have a tender and loving heart, and she is always in my heart.
