Apple Blossom Memories

Sometimes looking at a painting evokes childhood memories.

That's exactly what happened at a church's large indoor yard sale last Friday.

Spotted was a painted tree in full pink bloom. It looked like it was covered with apple blossoms.

When I was a little girl, there was an apple tree in our backyard, right over a swing set.

The fragrance of those apple blossoms defied description.

The air filled with glorious scent that could make my head spin as I swung through the air without a care in the world.

So when I saw the pink blossoms, a nearby pathway, and a fence-of-sorts in the painting, the scene touched my heart.

The artist, whoever he or she was, did a splendid job.

I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the price was only 50 cents!

Holy smokers.  All that work and loveliness for almost no payment?  Sold!

A string taped on the back made the painting ready to be hung since previously there was no hanging mechanism attached.

Now it just needs a place to hang so that's today's mini-challenge.

The little apple blossom painting that took me on a visit to happy childhood memories is now worth more than a million bucks!

DO YOU HAVE THINGS IN YOUR LIVING SPACE THAT REMIND YOU OF THE YEARS GONE BY?

Reminds me of the song: I'll Be With You in Appleblossom Time.....I loved our apple tree. Climbed up it many times and ate the little green apples with salt. Such fun memories.

funny thing.. I’ve never seen apple blossoms although my husband grows thousands of apple trees every year. they sell in the winter, so I never see the blooms. Texas is too hot for apple trees, but the ones we grow are in containers and are under shade cloth greenhouses with irrigation.

What a lovely painting, Susan, and it's nice that it reminds you of your childhood back yard and swinging by the apple blossom tree. I'm glad you bought it, and for only 50 cents. I look forward to seeing where you end up hanging it.

Yes, I have a painting of a woman smelling a bush of pink roses. The lady has reddish hair. It reminds me of my dear mom. She was patient and always took time to smell the roses, so to speak.
