While making a cup of tea, the tag had these words on it: "What a desolate place would be a world without a flower."
On yet another tea bag tag, the following message peaked my interest: "Are not flowers the stars of the earth?"
Both are quotes by Clara Lucas Balfour. She lived in the 1800s and, according to the Internet's Wikipedia, she was "an Enlish temperance campaigner, lecturer and author."
How true that flowers are the stars of the earth.
There are millions of different kinds of both and they bring touches of magic and exquisite beauty to observers.
A dear friend in Ohio sent me a note with a sweet scene on the front. Of course, it showed flowers and an adorable little bird, too.
On any visits to thrift stores, small frames in a variety of styles always come home with me.
I love to frame small cards received.
Some of these are given as little gifts whenever the need arises, and others can be spotted in my own small apartment.
May your Sunday be specially blessed with good things happening as well as seeing a flower or two.
Flowers of any kind are special. Weddings and funerals always have tons of them. Just looking at some in the yard or house lifts the spirit. Enjoy your Sunday.
ReplyDeleteHow delightful to make a cup of tea and have the quote "Are not flowers the stars of the earth?" written on the tea bag. This is a pretty card to frame. I just saw a hummer at my neighbor's house this morning. They are the most special birds, aren't they? Flowers are the magic in our lives. Have a peaceful Sunday, Susan, and a blessed week ahead.

I do love flowers of all kinds and it really saddens me to see them wilt in this Texas heat. This is the point we are at now. no matter how much water, the sun just scorches them. Happy Sunday Susan.
