During a quick run into a Goodwill thrift shop this week, there happened to be a very pretty painting.
It was a Christmas scene that would look nice in the bathroom gallery at holiday time.
On the back of it there was a battery box.
"Hmmmm," I thought. "Maybe this lights up somehow."The painting was purchased for the grand ol' price of $1.99.
Once home, batteries were installed but nothing lit up until a small on/off switch was detected along the painting's rim.
Viola! It lit up and was absolutely charming.
Talk about Christmas in October, this was it!
In just a couple of months, it will be part of the holiday gallery.

This is adorable and the bonus is that it does light up. Can you believe that Christmas will be here in 2 months? Am I ready? NO! My granddaughter, Mylee, wants me to put my tree up November 1st, but I just don't think I can..I love the Fall stuff way too much...Happy Wednesday Susan..
ReplyDeleteJust went to a Christmas gift shop yesterday. It had amazing decorations and I loved the ambience.
ReplyDeleteSusan, this painting is so delightful! I love that is lights up too. You always find the best things at the thrift stores. I know what you mean.....if I ever see anything wonderful for Christmas, even in the months of Oct. and Nov., I will surely take it home. Let us know where you put it for the holiday season. : ) I love all the red and white in the painting, and the firewood stacked up. wow, what a price for 2 dollars!
ReplyDeleteHow fun is this lighted picture!? I love it! We found one (a lake scene with a cabin) in a store and had to have it. It was a general store and not a thrift store and I hate to tell you how much we spent on it. Far more than $2! You got a wonderful deal.
ReplyDeleteYou could hang it in your guest bathroom and leave it on as a nightlight for overnight guests.
