One of the first enjoyable moments each morning is opening the screened front door.
It's refreshing to let in air and in the morning it's never too hot.
Looking out on the tiny strip of grass in front of the apartment, the first thing seen is the huge pink petunia plant purchased from a garden center a couple of weeks ago.
Oh, she's a beauty and so huge!
She filled the entire back seat of the car.
A nearby hummingbird feeder gets plenty of customers throughout the morning.
What a joy it is to see those tiny creatures with what looks like vibrating wings!
They stick their long beaks into the metal flowers on the feeder and drink away.
Ahhhhh. Early summer is a lovely gift.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT THIS TIME OF YEAR?
My favorite time in the garden is early in the morning, when it's cool and pleasant, before the temperature rises to 35 degrees Celsius. And I look at the summer flowers, the beautiful pink lavateras are blooming now.
ReplyDeleteOh, your flowering plant is a beauty, Susan! Love the color too. And I'm so glad the hummers are coming around to visit too. I just have to open up my window to see the neighbor's feeder, and there is almost always a hummer there to greet me. It's such a joy to see these precious birds, isn't it? Your lawn looks so green too. Up here in the mountains, everything grows wild, so there's some green and brown haha. But it's simply a peaceful environment. Have a lovely weekend, and can you believe July is almost here?
ReplyDeleteWas liebe ich an dieser Jahreszeit? Die Sommerblumen, die in allen Farben blühen. Ich habe mir auch so eine riesige Petunie gekauft. Ich konnte nicht wiederstehen. Sie sieht, trotz der Wärme wunderschön aus.
ReplyDeleteIch bin ganz fasziniert von deinem Futterhaus für Kolibries. Ich kenne diese niedlichen Vögel nur aus dem Urlaub.
