Add a Touch of Lightness to Your Decor

When it comes to decorating one's home, everyone's taste is unique and different.

There are some people who like a modern look, with absolutely no clutter. Sleek surfaces can be found in all rooms and probably stainless steel fixtures in the kitchen.

Then there are the more daring decorators who vie for deep burgundy or terra cotta dining room walls, custom draperies, and elegant furniture from high end stores.

In our own home, there are few empty spaces. My decorating style is definitely not stark or sleek. Because I have a tendency to have numerous collections going at one time, they are displayed throughout each room of our home. Luckily, my husband leaves the decorating up to me (except for his man cave where his tastes rule.)

Whenver I see an object that makes me smile, chances are it will be added to our decor. Life can be quite dreary, at times, so why not add a touch of humor to one's decorating? We all need to smile more.

The first time I laid eyes on the little hide-and-seek rabbit, I cracked up laughing. Every time I unwrap him around the Easter holiday, he still makes me happy.

The colorful bunnies singing in front of a church, hidden inside an egg, also bring joy. There are even little tulips planted in front of the bunnies. The bunnies seem to be as happy as they can get and looking at them makes you want to sing your heart out. Maybe a chorus of "In the Easter Parade" would be most appropriate!

A pair of "chocolate" bunnies is absolutely adorable.

The little girl bunny holds a basketful of colorful Easter eggs!

(What will even be funnier is if someone tries to take a bite out of one of the chocolate bunnies.Ha!)

So adding a touch of humor to one's decor lightens things up a bit.

DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING DECORATING YOUR HOUSE THAT MAKES YOU CHUCKLE?

Such sweet bunny and Easter decorations. I don't do sparse either. Every corner of my place is covered -- and where there's no decorations or collections, there's dust bunnies. :) Can't keep up with those little boogers. Have a great day. Tammy

I pretty much depend on dust bunnies myself (Thanks T's Daily Treasure for that idea)!

Webinar is a seminar that is carried over internet. I won a ticket to this 5 day 4 sessions per day webinar. Speakers (I hear audio and see their power point presentations that accompany them) on various topics; all through the seminar, you can chat with other "attenders" and via chat box ask questions at the end. There is a lot of interaction, etc. It is AMAZING!

Dear Sandie, Tammy, and Rebecca: Thanks for stopping by while I was away. Loved reading your comments.

Rebecca, the Webinar sounds very interesting. What kind of presentations did they give? Unique!

Hope you all have a good night! Sincerely, Susan

I too have many MANY things that I collect and boxes and boxes FULL of things waiting to be displayed if my man would just finish all the "work" he's doing around the house. So,...what makes me laugh my ass off is when someone comes in the house, sees all the boxes and asks if we are moving.

Dear Middle Child: Why don't you see if you can get some shelving units at thrift stores, haul them home, and start putting out your treasures? Sincerely, Susan

I collect a few things... but the only ones that are currently, and always, displayed are my teapots. I have a late 40s early 50s China cabinet with hand blown glass full of tea sets, tea pots and other treasures, some of which have been handed down for generations. They make me smile. Hey it's Tuesday! T(ea) Tuesday... Carmelina and I and some other ladies for tea tonight online...
