Vignettes in the 'Necessary Room'

Household members as well as guests constantly use the "necessary room"  so why not decorate it to the hilt?

In our house, I like to make little vignettes.  On top of a small white storage cabinets there are two gold frames with roses inside of them.  A very dear sister of mine who is an artist painted one of the pink roses.  In front of the two frames is a small wooden African sculpture of three girls dancing. That one I picked up in a thrift store. It was love at first sight.

Also in the room is a small stand with three mirrored shelves. On the top one is my collection of Indonesian cats. There's a Mama and four babies, all very comfortable and all with big tails! Believe it or not, the Mama cat was purchased separately! (These sweethearts are also pictured in this blog's header. Because of their wild colors, I absolutely love them.)

On a wall shelf there is a variety of nick knacks including this two inch doll baby who makes me burst into a smile every time I lay eyes on her. Isn't she the pizazz?

So there you have it--- some art pieces from the "necessary room."

I have pictures that my son made when he was in grade school in each of my bathrooms...so cute and such a great memory for me.

The baby doll has captured my heart! You must have a large house. Ours is too small for too many displays, so I will enjoy the variety that you share with readers.

I have always loved decorating my bathrooms. Perhaps because they are smaller than other rooms and are easier to tackle.

Also, they can be redesigned anytime without alot of time.

Your colorful cat collection is adorable.

And your sister's painted rose is simply a treasure.

*hugs*

I have art in the main bath(the one used by guests,) but none in our master or the downstairs powder room. I should change that. Your vignettes are so cute. Love the cats! And that doll is adorable! Thanks for sharing.

I have one "necessary" room that is devoted to pictures in the life of my dad! It makes me smile every time I go in there. Love your accents!

Hi Susan: How is my dear friend today? I love your displays, I put them everywhere. You stay still long enough and you will have at least a ribbon put on your head. Love you lots, Martha

Hi Susan,

Loved your sisters dancing in the "rose garden" and the colors of the cats are wonderful to see on a cold and snowy January morning. Very imaginative and heartfelt. I do decorate the necessary rooms and have used a Christmas card of a winter scene in one in addition to two cute felt snowmen.

Enjoy this wintry Saturday. I do love winter in New England.

Hugs and kisses,

Marianne
