They Saw A Star!

"They look-ed up, and saw a star,
Shining in the east, beyond them far...."

Can you imagine what it was actually like on the night the Baby Jesus was born?

Think of the shepherds in the fields, looking up into the vast heavens and seeing the star over Bethlehem.

How shocked they must have been to see such light twinkling brilliantly in the dark night sky.

Imagine the antipication they felt, their hearts beating fast to think of a Messiah being born on earth!

The sweet shepherd boy shown in the photo above was part of a nativity scene in a Christmas Shoppe in Estes Park, Colorado. There will be another post on this shop so stay tuned.

Hope you all have a really peaceful Sunday today.

May the wonder of the Christ child fill your heart and lift your spirit.

My favorite Christmas song is from the movie "Meet Me in St. Louis" with Judy Garland..the song title is "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas". I love the sentiment and words and especially the music.

I love all of the Christmas songs. Rocking Around the Christmas Tree makes me bee-bop and toe-tap, City Sidewalks Busy Sidewalks makes me think of 1950's decorated store windows, oh, I could go on and on. I sing as I drive to and from work, keep the radio tuned to the Christmas Music station.

Although men in my life hate Christmas music, I like it all. O Holy Night would be one of top favorites...first time I heard it as a child, I felt the tremor from the music and words. It still moves me to tears of elation if not careful.

If I remember correctly the wise men followed that star for months at a time to arrive at their destination - they even went out of there way to avoid the king. Long trip.

I love all the Christmas songs to tell you the truth.

Love,

I love nativities, and all that they represent. I'm not sure that I can pick one - Silent Night and I'll be home for Christmas are right up there.
