Touches of Autumn Around the House

Now that fall is officially here, we can bask in some of her wonderful offerings.

One of the best parts of any season is adding special touches to our homes.

There are so many ways to do this in autumn.

How about some dried corn for the front door?

Or some weird-looking gourds in a wooden bowl on the kitchen table?

A fall scene painted on a  sign hanging on the front porch is a welcoming  touch.

The artist who painted this one did a great job, don't you think?

It kind of makes you want to jump into the painting and walk down that road, doesn't it?

By the way, this painted wall hanging sells for $18.99 at the farm stand listed below.

While we all usually love big pumpkins, petite ones are adorable, too.

Pile them high in a glass bowl, spread them out on a tray or line them up on a windowsill, shelf or top of a doorway.

Why not add some pretty touches to your house, condo or apartment?

By the way, all of the photos in today's post are from a visit to Whitney's Farm market in Cheshire, Massachusetts.

It's such a cool place to visit.

If interested, you can check out their website here.

I'm like you--every season should be celebrated and little touches can say so much. I just love going to farmer's markets and appreciating what they have to offer us. Great photos that really put me in the autumnal mood:-D!

Its great you celebrate the different seasons, I have never seen corn in so many different colours does it taste any different to yellow corn.

Wish I lived closer to Whitney Farms! (Although we have some lovely markets here, too.) Thankfully the "sights" are free 'cause it seems the cost of the small gourds and pumpkins are out of range for my "decorating budget" this year! I especially like the whites, for some reason....

Your pictures make all of it very enticing :) What did YOU take home - and how did you use it?

Pumpkins are my favorite...love the shades of orange...some bright, some quiet...they all scream autumn!

I love arrangements of small pumpkins and differently colored squashes. I particularly love the appearance of a Turban Squash.

September has always meant apples to me, from my classroom years. Pumpkins will come out in October around here.:)

I hope to visit that farm market one of these days when we make our next trip to Massachusetts.:)

Have a great Tuesday, Susan!

I definitely wish I could jump into that painting for a beautiful Autumn walk. No signs of Fall around here. Everything looks the same all the time. I do miss the farmer's market. And all signs of the season. Hugs, Tammy
