Ooooo weeeee. The year is coming to an end very soon.
On today's "to do" list, one task listed is to find my 2013 Susan Branch calendar and get ready to hang it on the kitchen door.
That artist's colorful and artistic calendars make me smile 364 days a year. I know many of you are already familiar with Susan's work. Her blog, too, is beyond charming. She is definitely a light in the world.
Christmas season 2012 is almost history. Only two more gatherings around here this week and it's completely over.
Gone will be the cheesy dips and other fattening appetizers, the nibbles of cookies and sips of wine and Christmas decor in every nook and cranny.
About this time, I start to yearn for and look forward to bare windowsills and less clutter.
At some point today, I'll work on goals for the new year. I prefer to call them goals instead of "resolutions."
One thing I've found to be very true is that goals written down have a good chance of being met. There's something finite about putting goals down on paper.
As the year races to its end, I want to be sure to tell you that you, my dear reader, are very special to me and your visits throughout this year have been very appreciated.
You are a light in my world!
DO YOU SET GOALS FOR THE NEW YEAR?

Happy New Year's Eve! I do set goals and it helps me so much. I'm ready for some simple days here for sure.
hugs, Linda
You know, after so many years of failed resolutions, I finally hit upon one a few years ago that I can keep, and it requires only that I keep my eyes and ears open to others. I have resolved to try to be a blessing to someone each day, and that seems to be working out pretty well. Even though I'm retired, and there are some days that I don't even leave our apartment, I do have many friends on the computer, and there are some great needs that I can help with, sometimes just by letting the person vent when life is not being pleasant for them. Happy New Year, Susan!
Good morning, Susan. Our last event was just canceled as two of the four couples had sickness and one had trouble facing the drive on the projected ice/snow for tonight. So we head into new year a little earlier than planned by eating less junk today...I hope! Happy New Year to you!
Hello from Spain: I always I establish new goals for the new year. I usually jot down new goals in my personal agenda. I usually try to meet the objectives. I'm glad to know you through your blog. Happy New Year. We keep in touch in 2013.
Happy New year from St. Louis where the snow is coming down.
I have to admit, I only set short-term goals ever since my daughter passed away. I know it sounds morbid, but I seem to be frozen not to look that far ahead.
However, I do wish you, dear friend, a happy New Year and know how much I appreciate your blog, your kind heart, and friendship, XOXO
Yes, there will be goals set, but they are still percolating - maybe in a day or two I'll be ready to truly claim them. Good luck with yours!
I like to fly by the seat of my pants....not much of a goal writer. I think about things I'd like to improve on or change, but I don,t make too many commitments. I can guarantee one thing Id like to do,,,,try to read this blog more :)xo Babs
Yes, writing down goals seems to make them more attainable. I like to choose something that will require some daily effort. That way I am able to cross it off the list as the year progresses! I like the feeling of accomplishment that comes with that.
Happy New Year, Susan! I'm putting up my Susan Branch calendar as well!
xo Nellie
And, I have appreciated each and every time I have visited you on your sweet blog! Very Happy New Year wishes to you!
I have enjoyed reading your blog this year!
No, I don't formally set goals for the new year - I know I'm never going to meet them!
Happy 2013!
I gave up goals and resolution a few years ago...i guess I could say if I had a goal it would be to keep those goals and resolutions. :)Happy new year....peace and joy.
Love the little squirrel on the snowmen! I am going to eat healthier this year! To a wonderful new year - 2013! sandie♥
Hello susan,
Yes i try to set goals for the year but I think about them first and do them later in the year. New year and Christmas are to busy a time.
Merle.....
Susan. If anyone deserves a wonderful New Year, it is you. Blessings.
Hi Susan, yes, I like to call resolutions goals too! I do set them and have many on my mind tonight. I also pick a "word" for the New Year. I will do a post on my work tomorrow.
Happy New Year to you dear friend.
Love ya,
Linda
I do but hardly ever keep them more than a couple weeks. Good luck with yours.
