Summer Night Tasty Tacos

Tacos make a tasty and relatively inexpensive meal for a family as well as for guests.

I served them one night recently.

There were fresh chopped tomatoes, shown above, sprinkled lightly with onion salt and fresh chopped cilantro.

Grated sharp cheddar cheese:

Lime wedges for extra flavor:

Lightly fried and quickly folded tortillas served as taco shells.

Chopped lettuce and cabbage provided crunch for the hamburger meat mixed with taco spices.

Sour cream and salsa completed the yummy tacos.

There were  enough leftovers to share with three more people the next day!

Summer (as well as spring, fall and winter) tacos, gotta love 'em.

DO YOU LIKE TACOS?  IF YES, WHAT KIND?

Good evening Susan or good morning. Yes we love tacos and it is one meal even old Andy likes. I make it much the same way you do. They look good too!

I do like tacos---the regular kind with beef, but will usually use soft tortillas and make burritos, just because they're not quite as messy to eat. Now, you've made me hungry! Oh, chicken is good, also, but I have not tried fish ones, just because I cannot imagine that they would be good! :-)

Ole! for tacos. We never even heard of tacos when we were kids. When my husband and I moved to Memphis, Tenn. there was a new restaurant called "Taco Bell". That was the first time we ever had tacos. We loved them. Soon after we saw a make your own taco kit in the supermarket and we never looked back. Yum. I did try fish tacos and they were just as good; a little lighter without the beef, but delicious.

Your fresh ingredients looked so appetizing. I think I will make some tacos tonight. Thanks for the inspiration!

I like tacos but rarely make them at home. So many local places to fetch them here so they are an eat out or bag home meal for us.

Tacos make a fun way to have a summer supper (I do mine with veggie crumbles) and I love all the fixin's you have included. Great idea on these hot evenings. XOXO

My family always loved eating tacos!! Just chop everything up and lay it out there. Everyone gets to make their own.

It has been a very long time since I've had tacos. Yours look really appealing! I have not had beef since February, so my choice would have to be ground chicken or turkey.

You're right - tacos are a great, inexpensive meal. And I love that you can put out all sorts of toppings and everybody can grab what they want! :)

I like tacos, I like the soft ones and the beer fairy likes the hard ones so we get a box with a mixture. We eat them mainly in summer.

Not a big fan of them but will have one on occasion when we dine at a Mexican restaurant. I prefer the hard shell with ground beef. YUM
