While it's true that lots of people feel happier at Christmas, it would be great to keep that feeling all through the year!
The smiles, the good times with family and friends, the beauty of each day and night, delicious food and drinks, the twinkling lights and happy carols----all add to the incredible magic of the season.
Imagine what a gift it would be to feel such happiness throughout the year!
WHAT'S ONE THING YOU CAN DO TODAY TO OPEN YOUR HEART?

Cut the other guy a break. Maybe he/she is having a bad day.
Give compliments to someone you know would love to receive one...it always Works if you want to put a big smile into someone's face! Merry C'mas to you.

Gosh I thought I read this and left a comment. I must be nuts. I am going to smile and wave to all the people in their cars in my neighborhood! lol
Hello and Merry Christmas, Susan.....
What a good question..... I figure if I could manage to take a breath before I speak and then speak softly instead of exploding..... I would make my whole family happy....I'm working on that.....
Hugs and Blessings

We just donated our old video game system with games, that our grandkids have outgrown, to a family with teens who had a fire. I know it will make their holiday.
Banish the critical thought and look instead for what's praiseworthy - it's always there if you look hard enough. Isn't God good? As we celebrate the birth of our Savior it gives us time to pause and think His thoughts.
Appreciate others on their good point. It is something that always comes back (with interest)
Hello from Spain: I would like the happiness of Christmas spread throughout the year. I have donated clothing to families with less money in my community. Keep in touch
Smile at people in the street most of the time you get a smile back.

Merry Christmas, Susan!
What a wonderful sentiment! I enjoyed reading your readers' comments, too!
I thought I would share a post from awhile back when my husband and I did a good deed - wait til you see what happens next...I later met a police officer who, although was not one of the officers who received the gift, told me that she and her husband cried when they read about it! We just never know sometimes the impact that a seemingly simple act can have upon someone else!!! Sometimes it can make all the difference...

This is a wonderful sentiment, Susan. Wouldn't it be nice if we had Christmas in our hearts all year long?
Have a merry week ahead.

I like to give a candy cane and a small little handmade Christmas craft made by the senior center to a waitress with her tip. I try to do this on valentines, Thanksgiving, Easter, and sometimes just because. :)
I can open my heart by not grumbling when it snows more today. Gonna focus on the warm clothes I have, the sweet warm home I own, and the blessing I have ... A son to shovel my driveway!!!!!maybe I'll even go outside with my two year old granddaughter and make snow angels!!!!
Forgiveness opens hearts!
