Eating for Health

Hello Dear blog peeps:
The flower pot, shown in yesterday's post, was made in Spain!
One person, Linda, from A La Carte, guessed it correctly!
Thanks to everyone else for guessing!
Now, for today's post:

Sometimes having just a salad for lunch turns out to be a delicious treat.

Sliced beets and chick peas on greens made a yummy salad recently.

A simple mixture of olive oil and lemon juice made a delicious dressing.

I've also discovered a really tasty tea that has been purported to help lower blood pressure.

It's hibiscus tea.

It took me quite awhile to find it.

It's very tasty and has a deep, red color.

My favorite juice is ruby red grapefruit.

It's sweet and 100 percent juice. Delish.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SALAD DRESSING?

What a delightfully colorful post!

Hooray for healthy eating.

Since I'm trying for healthy eating, I have not yet figured out how to make a favorite dressing. We are going to make our own mayonaisse. And then, with it, we can make our own Ranch type dressing. :-)

THAT salad sounds interesting and delicious in addition to being healthy!

Now Susan that is my kind of salad - maybe a few too many beets - but they are so strong for you. I have a pretty easy oil - vinegar - sugar - and a sash of tobacco sauce - gives it a little kick!

You know, I rarely use salad dressing. More likely to drizzle just a little olive oil over my salad if anything is needed.

Your salad looks amazing! I'd love to copycat it! I'm also on the lookout for hibiscus tea!

Balsamic vinegar and olive oil is my favorite dressing. I'm not a fan of chick peas at all..but I love beets.
And my favorite tea is jasmine. Enjoy your new bowl from Spain!

Susan, I am excited I was right about that pot being from Spain! LOL! I love salad but I don't eat beets, maybe I should try them again. I love Ranch dressing but I'm working on lighter versions. Healthy eating is so important.
hugs, Linda

Yummy salad! I only ever use olive oil and lemon juice or balsamic. Although lately I have also been making quinoa salad with a lemon tahini dressing and boy is that good. :) I am drinking jasmine green tea at the moment. I don't really like Hibiscus tea hot, but the Egyptians like to drink it cold made with lots of sugar and it pretty darn good that way. Have a terrific day. Tammy
