Flower Pot But Not for Flowers

For a long time, kitchen utensils, such as spatulas, soup ladles, scrapers and so forth were jammed into a heavy glass container on the counter.

Every time a specific utensil was needed, it was like wrestling with an alligator to get it out of the container.

"I'm losing precious minutes of my life," was the thought that came into my mind.

So the other day, while perusing a discount store that has a wide array of merchandise at good prices, a very pretty, brightly colored flower pot caught my attention.

It was easy to picture setting all those kitchen utensils free by placing them in this wide-mouthed pot.

After plunking down my $6.50 (plus tax), I brought the flower pot home.

It's perfect!  I love it and removing any utensil in it is easy peasey.

Now here's a question for you. (I'll give you the answer tomorrow).

WHERE DO YOU THINK THIS FLOWER POT WAS MADE?

Poland because of the bright colors, vivid yellows? What a great idea for the kitchen!

...Love your new utensil holder Susan.... Great colours.....
If America is like Australia, I'd have to go with China

I don't know where it was made, but who ever made it, make a happy pot. :-)

And a perfect answer to your issue.

I keep all my utensils in a drawer but this idea is really good. I may try it. Don't know where the pot was made. I'd say China.

Hello from Spain: I think those are drawings of flowers from Holland ... I really like the container. Very useful. Keep in touch

I'd guess Poland. I like this idea. I have to search through the drawers, too. It's a time waster.

Great solution and oh, so pretty. I guess Portugal.

I agree with "Chatty" - I think Mexico. Through a fund raiser at my grandson's school I ordered a pail of popcorn. The pail looks like it's galvanized and has pastel paintings of fruit around the outside with a black and white plaid border. I use it for kitchen utencils. The problem is I've got it too full - I definitely need to do something about that :-)

This is very clever, and happy looking. I think it may have been made in Italy?

This is so pretty Susan and looks wonderful holding utensils! I say it was made in Spain for some reason! :)

I think maybe the pot was made in Poland also; I've seen similar pieces that were made there.

I did the same thing several years ago as I,too, was tired of wasting time rummaging through a drawer to find the right utensil. Works well to just be able to spot the right tool and pluck it out of the crock. As Martha Stewart says, "It's a good thing".

It's made of china?

Definitely is not Polish one.

I love the yellow flower pot, I would go great in my kitchen.

Yes, I too, am tired of fighting with the utensils in my kitchen drawer.

I recently cut my finger in search for a certain utensil.

I lack counter space but this looks so pretty.

Thanks for a great idea.
