Gospel Concert Extraordinaire

Music lifts our spirits.

When it's joyful music, praising Almighty God, it is doubly enjoyable.

Saturday night I was privileged to hear a concert presented by student members of the Williams College Gospel Choir in Williamstown, MA,  and the Allegrettos from Massachusetts College of the Liberal Arts from North Adams, MA.

It took place in a beautiful old building, Chapin Hall, on the Williams College campus in Williamstown, MA.

The photos in this post were all taken inside Chapin Hall.

The sheer joy of the students singing praises to God was palpable.

The audience moved to the beat of the music, too, often clapping, standing and cheering. In my own case, there was also crying.

Yes, I admit that when joy overwhelms my heart, tears flow.

What a night!

What a concert!

What a gift to see those beautiful young students singing praises to the Lord!

DO YOU ENJOY GOSPEL MUSIC?

Hello from Spain: in my country there is no gospel choirs music. I see these concerts in American films. I see that you enjoy much of this choir. Keep in touch

Lovely, Susan, what a moving moment in time for you to enjoy and capture in memory and photos. I can understand why you cried. That building is gorgeous too.

I love gospel music, and especially when it is sung enthusiastically by the young people. We have a big church in our area that has a huge choir, and one Good Friday they were joined by an inner-city choir from Detroit with an equally large choir. I've never heard anything so moving - the enthusiasm and the joy. My son and I didn't want it to end.

I sure do love gospel music. Especially the kind that makes you want to shout for joy and clap your hands. I bet it was amazing and uplifting. Hugs, Tammy

Hi Susan,

So glad you got to attend the Gospel concert. I was thinking I would go myself, but we were away for the weekend so it didn't work out. Sounds like it was superb.....

Never have been to Chapin Hall; looks like a great place for a concert.
