Happy Birthday Tributes

We had a wonderful Fourth of July.

Not only was it the birthday of America, our beloved country, we also celebrated the birthday of one of my "sistahs."

Yep, she was a rootin' tootin first class firecracker baby!

When she was little, she probably thought all the barbecues, fireworks and Independence Day celebrations were just for her!

She's been through a lot in life but she's still one heck of a trooper.

She even wore a red, white and blue heart around her neck on her special day!

It was awesome to celebrate the Fourth of July and my sister's birthday with so many loved  ones.

That's what makes life so very special.

At night, hubs and I watched the goings on from Washington on tv and that, too, was a wonderful treat.

All in all, it was a great day.

It is my fondest hope that you, too, had a good Fourth of July.

HOW DO YOU LIKE TO CELEBRATE SPECIAL OCCASIONS?

What a fun birthday! My Grandmother was born on the 4th of July and her first grandchild (my cousin) was born on the 4th of July so it's always been a special holiday in my family!

Your sister probably thought she was special with all the festivities compared to others' birthdays. Have a great weekend.

What a lovely way to spend the day, Susan! We had a quiet day visiting and staying dry! Lots of good food and laughter. My two favorite things on holidays, besides being with loved ones, that is.

What a beautiful day today is after all that rain!

Happy, Happy Birthday wishes to your dear sister! Please pass that along to her for me, would you?

It was a wet and cool 4th, but gathering with family to celebrate the birth of our country is always a good time.

We were listening to music on the deck(a random mixture of songs from the 60's on Pandora)and just as a little bit of late afternoon sun peeked thru and lit up the clouds, our little grandaughter pointed to the sky and the Beatles song "Here Comes the Sun" began to play! We all clapped and cheered and made a toast to the USA!

What a great day for a birthday. I hope your sister had a day filled with all the things she loves.

We used to have block parties when the kids were little on the fourth of July. I loved to hear about what you did when you were a kid, Susan. It brought back sweet memories of my own childhood.

love,

Happy birthday to your sister! Fun to have fireworks on your birthday. We watched fireworks and actually marched in the parade in support of our local senator. Our son is his campaign manager. It was fun. I am your newest follower.

I love to spend holidays with either good friends or family members. On the Fourth I went to a spectacular concert that had fireworks and didn't get home till midnight...but it was a blast (no pun intended)

Beautiful cake! We had a quiet day at home but a sweet neighbor lady shared a piping hot skillet of cornbread and navy beans and ham with us! So sweet.
