Rag Tag Birdies...

Today is National Day Without a Woman.
It is to bring "a beacon of hope, energy, and love."
It helps women to support each other and share our struggles.
While I am unable to refrain from working, I am wearing all red.
As women, as sisters, as mothers and grandmothers, we must show solidarity.
Together, we are powerful force and cannot be silenced.
There is much at stake.
Your opinion, about human rights for all, matters.
Regardless of your political affiliations, you can still advocate for the rights of women and children.
Each one of us matters.
YOU matter as well as the contributions you make to the world.
Sisters, wherever you are, in the USA, or in other parts of the world, I am with you...

And now, today's post:

Collections come and go.

Right now, without even realizing it, a rag tag collection of birds is
forming.

The little winged ones are marching bravely across a freezing cold
window sill in the kitchen.

The one on the far left seems to be looking out the window to see if spring has arrived yet.

It hasn't. Well, springlike temps came for a few days but then left.

I purchased the little transparent pink and clear colored ones in a hospital gift shop.

The blue one just joined the collection and was a gift from a sister-in-law in Florida.

This little pink one fell, smashed in half, and was glued back together again.

I couldn't bear to put her into the trash can, so she's with her cousins, all patched up.

Such "tweet" birdies they are, keeping a faithful lookout for spring.

DO YOU HAVE ANY BIRD DECOR WHERE YOU LIVE?

I have several birds that just seemed to happen. I have cast iron, ceramic, and silver metal ones; green ones, white ones, and three sets of beautiful brown quail. I let them take turns sitting around the house or on a dining table.

Birds? Oh yes! I have so many birds it's crazy. A collection of the blue birds of happiness, china birds, pottery birds and bird plates. Time to bring a few out I think! Hugs!

Not any bird décor but plenty of real birds in my yard all year long. Looking at a hummingbird as I write this comment. They are so pretty.
Enjoy your spring bird collection and I hope real spring weather comes your way this weekend with the time change.

i actually do have some birds in my house - and our friend Linda gave me one. You are right - we need to fight for women who are fighting injustice especially in other countries. We are the luckiest women alive living here in the USA. Sandie

We women need to have one another's backs. Women have been the backbone of most organizations. Love that pink glass birdie.
