A Delicious Way to Start the Day

Some mornings, do you have a yen for eggs?

Other times, a toasted English muffin and hot peach tea sound good.

On more rushed days, a super treat is Cabot Greek yogurt, topped with pecan halves and granola. 

There are all kinds of Greek yogurts on the market and many have been tried around here.

Personally, I think Cabot, made in Vermont, is the best.

It's thick, creamy, and always delicious.

Oh!  Almost forgot.  Today, while checking, it was discovered there was no honey left in the cabinet so maple syrup made a good substitute. 

It was heavenly.

Breakfast----A Great Way to Start the Day

Ordinarily, a nice bowl of oatmeal makes a delicious breakfast.

Sprinkle it with cinnamon, throw on a few raisins and a small handful  of pecan halves and it's a feast.

When guests are in town, however, breakfast becomes more detailed and involved.

Here's the menu at a recent Sunday morning breakfast bash:  

      Scrambled eggs
      Crisp bacon
      Rice
      Beans  
      Fried platanos
      Creme brulet French toast
      Orange juice
      Coffee
      Lemon water

The dishes used were made in Bavaria and have beautiful little pink roses all over their edges.

 I love these dishes. 

My daughter and son-in-law bought them for me. I had wanted them for decades and they discovered a whole set in a thrift shop!


Would these be something you would buy?

 Of course, the shabby chic candelabra allowed the guests to dine by candlelight.

Picked the pink flowers for the candelabra's vases in our backyard.

Water came served in the pretty goblets, shown below. 

Believe it or not, I found them in Family Dollar for a buck apiece. 

That was a fabulous bargain don't you think?
