Imperfect Angel

It would be easy for me to write a book titled "Confessions of a Pack Rat."

It's so doggone hard for me to eliminate things, even broken objects,  around the house.

Even though there are dozens of angels around here, when one fell and his head broke off, I couldn't throw him away.

He actually hovered in my hand above the trash can for a moment.

Then the rationalizations began.

"Well, Susan, you can glue him back together in a jiffy."

"Awwww, he's so cute. Fix him."

"His angel cousins, sisters, brothers, and the rest of the legion will miss him if you put him in the trash."

So for months his head and separated body sat on a shelf in my home office. (That's pathetic, right? Maybe I need therapy. ha ha)

Finally, with Valentine's Day coming, I glued him back together and sat him on a shelf held up by, what else?  More angels.

He seems to be in a perpetual state of  throwing a kiss.

He's the cutest little angel ever and I'm glad he didn't get tossed out.

Unless you look really hard, you cannot tell he once lost his head but found it again!

DO YOU FIX BROKEN OBJECTS AROUND YOUR HOME OR TOSS THEM?

In the Company of Angels

It's comforting to think about angels.

These Celestial beings are supposed to guide and protect their earthly assignees. Certainly, there have been times when I've had a close call, an "almost" car accident or a slip on a stairwell when a grab of the railing kept me from propelling to the bottom.  No doubt, to me, an angel intervened, saving me from harm. God places angels where He needs them most.

There are all kinds of angel images found around our house. They make me smile and give thanks for them as well as for their bigger, more spiritual counterparts.

There used to be a tv show, "Touched by an Angel" with Roma Downey. Some people thought it was hokey but I always loved watching it. Whenever I see re-runs of it, I enjoy them immensely.

This little guy sits on top of our family guest books. Whenever there is a special occasion in our house, guests who want to, can add a comment about the visit. It's fun to look back on these events and read what people wrote. When no one is visiting, little sleeping angel guards the books!

DO YOU BELIEVE IN ANGELS?

IF YES, HAVE YOU HAD ANY ANGELS ENCOUNTERS?
