Even as a child, I loved lilacs.
Their appearance on bushes clearly indicated winter was over in New England and spring was in full swing.
Their sweet fragrance is heavenly. I used to love, and still do, sticking my nose into a bouquet of purple lilacs and sniffing with gusto. Ahhhhh.They come in white, too, but my heart equates them with lovely lavender. By the way, that color would look great on a bedroom armoire or dresser, and on bed linens, too.
This week my daughter brought over a bouquet of lilacs from her yard. Then, a friend did the same. One bouquet is now in the kitchen and the other on a table in the hallway. Do you know that I can smell the fragrance of these flowers all the way upstairs, in my bedroom? Awesome!
They go by quickly, though, so it's important to enjoy them every second possible.
