Mother's Day Tribute: In Honor of Mothers Everywhere

Today, Mother's Day, pays special tribute to mothers everywhere.

It's also a day to remember grandmothers, aunts, cousins, friends, and all women who have enriched our lives.

My Mummy died four years ago so for me, Mother's Day celebrations are now tinged with sadness. Even though she's gone from this world, I still feel her presence.  Her smile is there when I see white roses or hear an old tune she played on the piano. She's there when my sisters and me get together and share laughter and memories. To Mummy, family was everything.

Her influence on my life will continue for as long as I'm on earth.

Recently, at an indoor flea market, I came across two framed poems, one of which is pictured today. There is no date posted on the poem but it's definitely old. It has the great picture of a  pretty mother and baby,  shown on this post. I'm so happy to be able to share it with you and will show the other poem another day.

If your mother is alive, and you are able to visit her today, do yourself a favor. Give your mother the biggest, warmest hug you can. Then tell her you love her, even though she knows you do. She needs to hear it from you often, but especially today!  You will miss her SO MUCH  when she's gone.

Today, I wish all of my dear blogger friends who are moms, a warm, happy, and FUN Mother's Day! If you are not a mom, I still wish you a great and happy day.

WHAT IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS YOUR MOTHER EVER TAUGHT YOU?

My mother taught me never to hold a grudge. That bit of wisdom has served me well over the years.

The roses in your previous post are just gorgeous. I told my kids yesterday GO TO YOUR ROOM AND MAKE ME SOMETHING. I got nothing. Boys! My mom is thousands and thousands of miles away so won't be visiting. She moved and I don't remember where I put her new phone number. :/ Sorry to hear about your mom. Your sweet little framed poem is really special. Hope you are having a beautiful day. Many blessings, Tammy

My Mom's favorite quote..."More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of". She taught me to pray and I'm very grateful for that.

Happy Mother's Day to you, too, Susan! Hmmm....one of the most important things my mom taught me was how to get by on a very tiny budget.
