A Charming Getaway to the Applewood Manor Bed and Breakfast in Castleton, Vermont

When life gets tiring and the chores and obligations of daily living begin to weigh a person down, a quick remedy is to plan a weekend away.

With a little bit of researching , a sense of adventure, and careful stretching of dollars, two or three days away make a world of difference in attitude, outlook, and spirit!

This summer, my husband and I took a weekend excursion and stayed at the Applewood Manor Bed and Breakfast  in Castleton, Vermont .  This is a fairly rural area near Rutland in central Vermont.
Our daughter, an Internet whiz, found the Applewood for us while searching online. It turned out to be a top notch find.
Nancy Cameron and Ralph Hirschfeld are the innkeepers. Nancy warmly welcomed us the minute our car pulled into the driveway.

Accommodations in Hannah’s Room were extremely comfortable. The king size canopied bed with soft, luxurious sheets and pillows promoted deep and undisturbed peace.

To the left is  a close-up of the exquisite wallpaper in Hannah's Room.

Below is a light in the ceiling of the second floor hall landing:

The house, itself, the middle part of which was built in the late 1700s, had beautiful and tasteful decor and was spotless.

Here are some photos of the sumptuous pool and surrounding area at the Applewood:

Fresh fruit cup, blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup, eggs Benedict, sausage links, fresh scones and pastries, orange and grapefruit juice, and rich, luscious coffee were some of the offerings available for breakfast.

If you enjoy looking at details of a Bed and Breakfast establishment, check tomorrow's blog. We will show floral arrangements and other decor of Applewood Manor!

Oh, Susan, what a stunning place to get away to. I'll bet you and hubby will be visiting there again. I've never been to New England. It's way high up on my list, for sure! Strawberries on your blueberry pancakes - yummy, yummy!

What a nice Bed and Breakfast. I have never slept under a canopy bed. That seems like it would be fun.

A pool, beautiful surroundings, and breakfast made for you - I'll eat what you did.

This is exactly how I picture NE in my mind!! such a wonderful finding Susan. The white house the green, lucious garden, and the clear pool are certainly inviting!, not to mention the cozy home atmosphere and the yummy pancakes! :-)
Indeed, some time away is what one needs to clear the mind, and gather energy to keep on going.
My favorite breakfast? Orange juice and beans! black beans are so popular here (practically a food group!), that are eaten during breakfast and dinner.
have a great day!
